Logarex
is the owner of a patent application that describes a new compression method
based on numeric reduction of number string lengths using conversion of data to
numerics and then to a series of logarithms that in turn represent a shorter (i.e. compressed) representation of the original number. The
company is striving for a compression solution that is "lossless"
meaning that the compressed data when returned from a compressed state is
identical to the original precompressed data. There is very little research in
this particular field since the great majority of research is focusing on
"lossy" compression methods for video and music distribution such as
streaming video. In the case of "lossy" compression the data need not
be identical to the original pre-compressed data as long as a reasonable level
of perceived quality of video or audio is evident. While
this may be possible with video or music data forms, critical data such as
financial transactions, communications and computer applications will become
useless unless faithfully and reliably reproduced with zero modification. Logarex is working hard to reach its first milestone of a consistent demonstrable example of the technology, and then to refine the method to attain its maximum feasible potential. During the course of this development Logarex will release a series of licensable development kits on an annual license fee basis. Its initial customer base will include satellite, communications and media companies.
When you have received the USERNAME and PASSWORD click here. At the secure web area you will be able to submit numbers of at least 15 characters in length, have them compressed and then resubmit them to the compression server to have them decompressed and returned to full length.
Upcoming
product releases will include a software development kit with example
compression and decompression applications as well as an overview of design
considerations and a troubleshooting guide. Example
applications will include access to a web based compression server and PC based
decompression application designed for personal use. Also available will be SQL
and XML based example server applications for the building of large scale
compression and decompression applications on specialized hardware platforms
and clusters of computing devices for massive compression and decompression
applications. Currently
license terms being considered will include an annual renewable license for use
of Logarex technology and patent rights and no cost upgrade of that license over the year
license term to technology that delivers up to 250% of the
compression performance originally supplied under the license contract. For
example if Logarex supplies an SDK that is advertised to consistently deliver
20% compression to any precompressed data, then the License agreement will
extend to cover technology that supplies up to 50% (i.e. 250% x 20%) compression
within the annual license term. Licenses
for technology that delivers compression performance in excess of 250% will be
negotiated in a separate new agreement. To

The Logarex patent application was applied for on behalf of the company by Akin Gump of Dallas, Texas a highly respected and world renown intellectual property law firm. The application covers certain methods and concepts relating to the use of logarithmic number sequencing and related computing techniques to obtain compression of data in computer and analog based forms. In addition Logarex is exploring derivative technologies and possibilities for derivative patent applications.

Releases: Logarex
in the Press:
Logarex is following a strategic growth plan that will allow it to quickly and effectively leverage its market opportunity. Initially Logarex will conduct its business in the format of a small startup development firm using small capital levels from a seed group of professional investors. The seed capital will be generated to allow the first product prototype to be built and to fund an executive management team to the point of raising its first round of financing with Venture Capitalists or partnering companies. resulting computations are combined with computer based pattern recognition and
string analysis algorithms to consistently reduce the size of chunks of data. An updated business plan and prospectus are available to qualified professional investors.
